Gursimran (VA7GUR / VA7YW) is passionate about Ham Radio and enjoys all aspects of amateur radio, including VHF, UHF, HF, Packet, and APRS.
VA7GUR is Secretary of Squamish Amateur Radio Club and a member of Radio Amateurs of Canada.
With an academic background and interest in the Emergency and Disaster Management field, VA7GUR is Certified Emergency Coordinator (CEC) by Radio Amateurs of Canada, and involved with Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) – currently appointed as Section Emergency Coordinator – British Columbia Section, South West Region West.

VA7GUR operates HF portable using Elecraft Kx3 and end fed or random wire antenna. The mobile station consists of Elecraft Kx3 and Hustler Resonator installed in Jeep Cherokee KL. The home setup consists of Icom 730 or Elecraft Kx3 with Alpha Magloop Antenna 80-10 M. VA7GUR keeps experimenting with homebrew antennas.
